Lasya Nanditha contested the 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly Election as a candidate of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) from the Secunderabad Cantonment Constituency, a reserved constituency for SC, and won the seat defeating Ganesh N of BJP by 17,169 votes. Her father, G. Sayanna, was the sitting MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment but he died in February 2023.
Nanditha was a young and talented politician who had gained some experience as Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s Kavadiguda division Corporator in 2016. She also contested as Ward member of Secunderabad Cantonment Board in 2015 but lost the seat. She made her debut in the Assembly by winning the Cantonment seat with a comfortable majority of 17,169 votes.

G. Lasya Nanditha was a BRS MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment in Telangana. Lasya died in a road accident on February 23, 2024, when her car hit a metal crash barrier on the Outer Ring Road near Patancheru.
She suffered severe neck and head injuries and was declared dead at the hospital. She was 37 years old and had a promising political career ahead of her. Her death was mourned by many political leaders and the public.
