2019 Machel-Mandela Fellowship Programme Application Form Is Now Available


This is to let you know that Brenthurst Foundation is again accepting applications from young graduates into Machel-Mandela Fellowship Programme. This programme was named in honour of former South African president Nelson Mandela and his wife Graca Machel.
The main aim of this very programme is to train and nurture African future leaders. Though the entry into this fellowship programme highly competitive.

Scholarship Details
Machel-Mandela Fellowship Programme runs a full time for a minimum of six months. This fellowship is open for both international and South African candidates, the qualified candidates are expected to take up an appointment at the Foundation's headquarters in Johannesburg  in April 2019.

Do not worry about the process, fellows will work directly with an assist, that is the Foundation's staff on a range of project and any activities, and some of the activities will require foreign travelling.
An all inclusive monthly stipend and accommodation (subject to Foundation policy) will be provided for you.

What Are The Requirements? 

  • Undergraduate or Masters degree with a good prove of Academic excellence.
  • Must be under 30 years of age.
  • Excellence English communication skills required, with copy-editing and proof-reading skills an asset.
  • Enthusiatic and reliable self-starter who require minimal oversight and management.
  • Able to balance deadlines and attention to detail.
  • You must have a passion for Africa and keen interest in strengthening Africa's economic performance.
  • Familiarity with the work of The Brenthurst Foundation.

  • An up-to-date CV with references
  • A covering letter of no more than 500 words, outlining your interest in the position and relevant skills
  • A writing sample like an essay or a published article of any length
  • The earliest date you would be able to start
  • Details of where you saw the post advertised
